    Diy duracoat

Just got my rifle back from gunworks with new suppressor and a bit of trigger work done. Brand new browning x-bolt. Egw rail and arc 34mm rings. Stainless is boring thohgh so i pulled it all to bits, and blasted it all with alu-oxide.
Then hung it all up and put some duracoat on it. Tactical dark earth with a black speckle over top. Will be interesting to see how it turns out

All back together now, sorry didn't get any more pics of the process etc. But here are some of it all done with and without suppressor. Damn it's hard to take a pretty picture of a rifle

Not 100% sure it's what I was after yet, hopefully it will grow on me

Not tricky at all, will see how it wears, I am an autopainter but no skill required in spraying this stuff. It is very expensive though in terms of amount needed, 4oz kit only just did this from dead eye dicks at $50 ish. Whereas that would get me half a litre of regular automotive basecoat(for spies hecker)

    Good job.

You could almost call that colour "bird's egg brown"

Haven't even put a shot through it yet, but juat at a quick look, glass is pretty top notch, would put it just a step above a viper pst as it is noticeably brighter. clicks are nice and notchy maybe not quite as nice as a viper pst but very close. Will head out to the range this arvo and have a play with it

I'd like to do a digi-cam sorta job on it, just finding out some more info on duracoat to see whether it will hold alright on the x-bolt stock as it's quite rubbery. And the only other options for aftermarket stocks are wooden boyds stocks(as far as I can find)
