DIY webbing spray on rifle stock

Just purchased a kimber hunter, not a big fan of the tan colored stock so looking to change it up a bit.

Has anyone sprayed webbing spray on there stock? I've found a few links in the US but cant seem to source the webbing/marbling spray here, any recommendations on where to find it?

Hoping to replicate the look seen on alot of the bell and Carlson stocks.

Dip a brush in paint and wave the brush over it like your trying to dry it after washing it. Probably with a little less force though. Practice on something first

I did one with marble effect paint on a model 70 bell and carson stock, came up awesome.
I would definitely do a practice on something you don't care about as you can manipulate the effect by how close you hold the spray can.
I also added a few coats of matte clear to protect it, dunno if needed or not but came up mint.
The stock refurb thread is on this site....I'll see if I can track it down

Yea boy, that looks good. I was hoping to find a a dark krylon webbing spray so I didn't have to paint the stock and could just add some texture to it. But doesn't seem like there's mamy options.

Go to your first aid box, take a roll of gauze and put it in a mug with three tea bags, pour boiling water over, leave to cool. You now have some lightweight khaki webbing wrap.

Can buy dulux or duplicolor marble paint at bunnings in a spray can. It's pretty much what you want. If your gonna paint the stock it's probably worth removing the gel from that stock if your going to at the same time. It's about half a pounds worth.

Managed to get the gel out pretty easily. Took 10 minutes and lost 200grams in weight, I then gave her a lick of paint and clearcoat. Needs a few days to dry properly but pretty happy with the outcome. The test will be the longevity of the paint but worst case I give it a light sand and coat in a couple of years. Went with a fleck in the paint rather then webbing just because it was more readily available in nz.

One thing I would say is if you are doing this stick with a matt clear coat. Bunnings didn't have any when I was there so got a satin finish, it looks nice but it's a little bit shiny. I think It will dull up a bit with use though.
