    Drainage question

My mother’s section is on a slope, and the houses above hers discharge their stormwater down hill.
She has an open drain, at the top of her section
All the land above hers, used to be bush, she’s been there 70 years or so.
    Her section is getting swamped
The council are no help, and when I approached one of the owners above her about it, he told me he was selling and basically FS. ( sold 2 weeks later )
I want to run Novacoil from the open drain, down the side of her section, and into a stormwater drain where her section meets the road.
    Thinking 100mm
    The section is 1/2 acre.
    Any thoughts or suggestions welcomed
    Cheers

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

My understanding is the current Law requires you to contain any stormwater / surface run off water within the property. Might pay to check with your council before you do any drainage on your property.

We have used a fair bit of nova flow on the farm. It works well but is easily blocked by trees roots. Even grass roots will block it if it's too shallow. You need to get it at least 500mm deep. If the neighbors water is coming from a pipe or can be localized to a small area the non perforated nova flow might be a better option.

    Get a sock on it
Stretch the sock material over a larger size short bit of pipe and slide it over the whole length

Stops the pipe getting clogged with clay fines

If you just want to transport the water through her place, and don't need to catch water, use unpunched nova flow. Or better still pvc, less likely to block.

    Agreed

Punched to soak it up and unpunched to move it
