Put them under the house for about a year to dry out. No good trying to work with wet wood and if you dry it after its been cut, it'll warp.

Then either use a axe and split them on the grain into slabs, or rig up a jig so that you can cut them with a circular saw.

Or, have a hunt around and see if anyone has a planer, make much easier work of it.

Do you need an guide on the oiling/sanding part?

@HG Man I have all the gear to do it, yes i know i should be drying them but job needs doing Even if i have to make a temporary base. Dry some timber for bases so i can laminate later.
I know post will have a bit off moister but they are not like a dripping wet piece of pine.

Been there. Split them with an axe, that'll give you reasonable straight bits work with, scrape off the big bits of dirt, join together, cut to shape. You shouldnt need to worry about the outside too much unless you were planning on putting some sort of live edge in there?
