    Fixing walking spotting scope

Hi Guys, I have a Konus spotting scope for range use it came with a three legged tripod to mount on the bench and the dame thing walks around or falls over. It never stays lined up to the target so I screamed enough!!!, there has to be a better way. Had a brew and looked in my goodies box and pulled out two old scope mounts I had made then a lump of 1" round brass. A large bench clamp was drilled at the top of the sliding bit and the scope brackets attached to hold the bit of brass, the top of the brass bit was machined down to fit the spotting scope top mount. Now at the range I just mount the clamp on the side of the bench and attach the scope base then screw on the spotting scope, now the dame thing can`t move, even when I`m blazing away with my Sharps., There`s no patent on this idea but all beers will be gratefully consumed,

You can bring it to the range, add a concrete pedestal.
