GRS bag rider - laminate stock

I’m wanting to add a pic rail to the base of the bag rider section of this stock so that I can put on an aftermarket bag rider/extension.

Due to the recoil pad and lop mechanism there is not a lot of flesh left to drill into. I’ve got 10mm to work with before it’ll ruin the lop adjustment. What is left is also laminate.

Would I be safe to drill out a couple of oversized holes, fill with steel epoxy and then set the pic rail bolts into the epoxy with some release agent? Poor man’s drill and tap?

If anyone has done similar or has a line on aftermarket GRS bag riders let me know.

    Cheers

Doesnt look like a lot of meat there to give it some strength. I'd be pulling the adjustable butt off and and rebuilding the thick aluminium bit with an integral rail on the bottom and 90 degrees to the plate and facing forward so it slides just under the butt.

Yea might have to. I used aluminum flat bar previously but wasn't happy with how it looked.
