How to conserve paper labels on a leather gun case ?

I have a new project leather gun case to restore for my Greener double rifle.

I intend gluing down the loose edges of the remaining labels and then want to seal them to stabilize them

Does anyone have actual experience conserving anything like these labels ?

There are quite a few different NZ and offshore labels which are quite legible.
And an owners name in gold across its top

The inside is a complete refit because of moth eaten damage

It's a medium term project, so I will take the time to do it properly.
    Case exterior is almost perfect

You are in Canterbury...I would think it might be worth talking to the Museum, Perhaps Ferrymead, or Librarys for contacts as paper / book restoration and conservation will be right up their alley....

There is a product called "resolene" that I use to seal leather. Could be worth looking in to. It is a liquid so may not go well with paper?.
