Thread: How do you clean your old wood

well, i ended up just cleaning it with sugar soap, no sanding,

I just want it to be clean, i like the imperfections, its part of the history,
as for the value, not so important to me, its far from mint, but it is all matching numbers

i just need to protect the wood again

Sounds like it's an enfield of some sort. That being the case lots of light coats of raw linseed oil
Thin it right down and do multiple coats.

For sporting arms you can't beat true oil
