Howa short & mini actions - swapping stocks

This is one of those questions I want to ask and then delete afterwards.... however I'm a bit ignorant, and can't find any info online...... but I'm going to be receiving a Howa mini 7.62x39 in the next couple of weeks - the removable mag setup.
I also have access to a Howa short action stock and the bottom plate setup from a .308

I'm wondering if anyone knows if its possible to just swap the mini over into the short action stock and do away with the mag - or will nothing line up at all and its just a dumb question?

    cheers in advance....

Not a stupid question at all! I'd thought i'd seen one on Broncos website up in Tauranga, however looking again it may be the magazine floor plate? I'd give them a call as they've got all sorts of Howa specific parts and accessories. I'd expect it to simply be a replacement part from the factory, which if so they should be able to order one for you.

As for swapping the two out, if there both short actions then there both meant to fit the same mag floor plate so i'd expect it'd work in reverse. Only one way to find out!

Short answer...... no, the mini action won’t fit in a short action stock.

The short action bottom metal also won’t work with the mini action.

As above, no. The mini action has no facility to allow a floor plate mag and follower to work, as they are deigned to work off a single stack mag.
