    I've been Tinkering

I've been tinkering, well to be more precise I've been doing some 3D design in TinkerCad and getting it printed at my local library.

I need a project to do, something relatively small but challenging for me as it's been about 20 years since I did any CAD work.

So I decided to have a go at designing and printing a copy of my FTR rifle's trigger guard.
An interesting shape with lots of curves, holes and a slot.

4th and final prototype (see pictures). Bonus is that it is 10 grammes lighter than the original - which can help in a shooting class with a weight limit.

I will get some printed in different colours and higher density printing. Should be about $4-$5 each to print.

In public this is referred to as a "Finger Guard" for macninery. Technically correct description.
I do the Jedi Mind Control so no-one knows anything else.

Or at least print replicas for display and to confuse the authorities.
"No sir that's not a rifle, really it's not."

Sounds like your library is not only well set up, but more resilient that others.

My closest to work - Wellington Library is closed due to earthquake damage.
My closest to home - Waikanae closed due to mould from water damage.

I ship my 3d designs off to a workmate in Auckland, as using the public 3D printing in my region is too hard. I foresee the purchase of a 3D printer in my not too distant future.

After 5 evolutions/prototypes/redesigns the final edition was achieved.
    Added colour for some interest.
