    K98k refresh

Bought this Byf42 a few months back.

It was a prime candidate to reverse the sporterisation being undrilled and the barrel and sights were unaltered.

It also came with a very original looking sling.

Off to the cops and a month and a half later I had a import permit for a stock. Sarco initially said they could send me one then went silent. IMA had some so I paid a bit extra for a "hand select" and this one turned up.
They appear to be Yugo numbered and in tidy condition.

Got the rest of the stock metal from a couple of good guys here on the forum and Ebay etc.

Very pleased with the outcome, however there is not much change out of $1700, for the whole thing. Obviously some satisfaction from seeing it restored.

Onto the next one now. A drilled post war Czech K98k that needs the same treatment but will get a repro sniper scope set-up.
