How difficult would it be to turn an old .303 to 45/70. Who can re barrel in this cal in NZ?

Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.
This conversion cannot be done on a Lee-Enfield action because the rim diameter of the .45/70 is .030" larger than the diameter of the bolt. The P14, however, does make a very nice conversion to .45/70 and I have done several of them. The P14 action is quite strong, allowing the old .45/70 can be safely cranked up to velocities that approach the .458 Win Mag.
I did a Martini Enfield 30 years ago using a Hawkins barrel. Minor mods required to the extractor and you're away.
Seen a few done on Martini actions, there is one currently in Elios Gunshop in Dunners,
Only single shot but hey how quickly are you going to be firing it
Martini action, about 8- 10 aimed shots per minute if you want how fast do you want to go?. Think the record for the no 1 mk 111 is around 45 per min including reloading!
I have a 45/70 on a Martini action nice to shoot, another on a trapdoor action
Boom, cough,cough,cough
