Need advice on damaged barrel thread

Realised I should have probably posted this here not the Firearms section.

I had a gunsmith clean out the base screw threads on my Rem 700 as they were rough from the factory and shaving the threads on the base screws. I told the gunsmith I don’t mind paying extra for them to remove the barrel so they can run the tap right through the front hole without hitting the barrel threads. Well he didn’t, and has damaged the barrel thread as you can see in the pic below. Is this gonna be an issue when removing the barrel later on? Will it damage the action threads when forcing it through or will it simply get forced back into shape by the action threads. Which steel is harder i guess action or barrel? I might be worried about nothing but i’m a bit OCD and this kinda stuff pisses me off.

Looks like the barrel thread is fairly easy to damage, so likely softer than the receiver thread.

I expect it will unscrew just fine and with luck it will emerge with dent straightened out by its trip through the receiver thread.

For a if/when the barrel is removed that screw hole will be useful for introducing WD40 the day before.

Yes that would piss you off particularly after expressing a concern.....if the barrel is stainless there is a possibility of it seizing and galling on the action threads when removed.

Best to have the guy do as @Mauser308 suggests then remove the barrel to be sure there will not be future issues for the next guy, clean up the thread and reinstall at his cost.

Before you try removing it force as much anti-seize/graphite paste into the hole just to help stop galling. Stainless on stainless goes bad real quick once it starts binding.
