New life in .30 cal ammo can

Hiya all, thought I would share something I have just finished today, started in Dec last year but weather was yuk to get it done sooner.
I started tinkering with old ammo cans for ammo storage, after alot of reading on the web and trial and error i have completed my 3rd ammo can.
Sadly i got stuck with long drying glossy olive drab instead of my quick drying non gloss.

My first 2 cans nicely fit 1600 rounds of boxed CCI 100 packs of ammo each, I have one for subs and other for HV, they sit in the gunsafe I dont take them out would break my heart seeing the paint knocked about.

Here i picked up 2 ammo cans from kiwi disposals on K road, Auckland man have they jumped in price $30 each spent a bit of time hunting for good gasket lids and not too many dents

I am going to use this can as a single "go" can throw in a couple of 100 packs of ammo, the bolt, cleaning kit etc and head out so I lined the inside with felt which I picked up from Spotlight using double sided tape tp stop things banging around inside.
And not to forget the silicon grease
