Peep sight project
So I've been looking to get something along the lines of a skinner sight for the rear of my henry all weather but before going through the permit process etc I wondered whether there was any good machinists/gunsmiths in nz who might be interested in making something like this?
I have a scope base already if that is required for measuring up the receiver shape and mounting hole locations.
Would need to be slightly adjustable, at least for windage of course and preferably out of stainless steel.
Not looking for a freebie or anything like that but would rather spend my money on our own soil as a first option if anyone was interested or knew someone.
Cheers
George

Is your foresight adjustable for windage in a dovetail?

@Bomb think it was who made one....if you use right scope base ,one with screw on each side, your windage is taken care of...

Yes front sight is in a dovetail but don't know how to sight in iron sights like that or how much at a time moves poi etc. Scope base screws down from the top same as most bases on bolt action rifles etc

sorry thats not scope base but mount...I did a rough n ready one by drilling a 6mm hole through scope mount.....sort of worked....
-
now you talking scope base it makes me think of childhood Macarno set......all thats needed is a rightangled piece of sturdy flat.....you can fix it using scope base screws and have peep hole drilled at correct elevation,at size that suits.....pity I can t do it on shotgun...the pop rivet head works OK all the same.

Put up a photo or 2, my diy one fits on a weaver base and has a little windage and elevation adjustment.I will put up a photo if you want.
