    Rayburn stove enquiry

Anybody here familiar with Rayburn stoves? Can you operate one without using the wetback? Does anybody in the South Island refurbish them?

The wetbacks on those are cast iron, so no dramas running them not connected.

Dad just disassembled our one, cleaned up a couple of threads, a replacement bit here and there, and reassembled. Job done.

I have had one for years, the big central heating one.
When the water jacket started leaking I pulled it out and it was steel
Tried welding it a couple of times but the steel had got to thin and kept on failing.
Wicked machines if you want a kitchen type unit.
Had seven decent sized radiators on it and could get those bloody hot.
They just take short fat wood.
My pick now for having a fire running radiators is the hunter 80b.
    It's a water heating weapon!

There is some one down there as talked to them about rebuilding mine.

They are simple but parts are bloody expensive.
