The wetbacks on those are cast iron, so no dramas running them not connected.
Dad just disassembled our one, cleaned up a couple of threads, a replacement bit here and there, and reassembled. Job done.

Had seven decent sized radiators on it and could get those bloody hot.
They just take short fat wood.
My pick now for having a fire running radiators is the hunter 80b.
