    Re-Blueing

What sort of money would I be forking out to have a rifle re-blued to a high gloss finish?
I currently has nice bluing but wearing thin.

@double_shot does ceracoting I haven't had it done but it looks bloody good, or you could get a can of the blue steel stuff and paint it on yourself.... I did a 10/22 with the spray can, worked well and got a nice camo patternn it but it did scratch off over time

My gunsmith mate helping me with my project said about 4fiddy. That's with a hot box to sweat/rust it over 3 weeks or so.

Just had a Model 1 Brno redone by Alan Carr- nice work. This thing was a bit pitted and the whole action/mag a bit gummy from age/use. He sorted the lot for less than $400

That'll be slow rust bluing, often regarded as the best method and certainly the most work, but it wont give a high gloss result. Hot caustic bluing with a lot of pre-polishing for high gloss, if that's what you want.
