    Reproduction Lee Metford Rods

Here is a little project I have been working on, there seems a world shortage of Lee Metford clearing rods as back in the day the military disposed of them and swapped for pull throughs. I have some original drawings so have been making copies, they include the 3/16" 26 TPI thread in the tip and on the rod, the idea being two would have to be screed together to use on one gun. The tricky bit was milling the four grooves but I made a simple mill fixture to hold the blank tip with a pointer to index round 90 deg per cut.

These are for the Metfod MKII but from what I can see the Martini Carbine used the same just a little shorter.

I am working on the MKI Metford but that is way more tricky, a lot longer with a more complex tip and a 14 TP left hand thread.
