Question Sako finbear what's it worth and is it worth salvaging ?

    WARNING PIC HEAVY
SO I have been offered this through a friend and have been allowed to have a play with it before I make a decision?
It's a sako finbear in the King of calibers for real men .270
It's been sitting unfired since 2012 and prior to that not a great deal of work but unknown.
It's got its share of dents etc but nothing bad, not abused just carried and hunted with.
The blueing isn't to bad but the coating on the floor plate is pretty worn.
It's got genuine sako blued low rings.
I've wacked a period 3-9x40 scope on it and it pulls up to the shoulder nicely.
Lighter than expected, I'll bet if it could talk it would have some stories.
    Completely original unmolested.
I've given it a good copper clean and lube as it was pretty fouled but not too bad.
What I want to know is, in it's current condition what's it realistically worth ? And is it worth salvaging ?

If you do buy it I wouldn't bother "salvaging" it, just use it as it is. I'd be guessing at price.

Definitely worth salvaging....what it is worth in dollar values I have no idea but would guess in the region of a BRNO in similar condition? so 500-900? depending on if it still shoots?

Sorry when I say salvage I would likely only get a new recoil pad (hopefully the same) and sort the trigger as its a little heavy, maybe get the barrel crowned.
I will be doing some shooting to see what it shoots like before making a decision.
I like it's character not out to do a full restoration on it.

I have been offered it for more than 500 but substantially less than 900 so that's good to know, I just hope it's a shooter.

@dannyb that stock looks worse than it really is you could rebed it if it’s never been done see then how it shoots then if it really dose well strip the stock down. Those dents will left out with a hot knife and wet rag treatment. Then sand down. Leave the checkering as is and seven coats of boiled linseed oil. Send the barrel action of for a reblue and wicked you got yourself a nice old school shooter
Ok so it takes a little longer than how fast I typed this up. Oh through in a couple pillars if it doesn’t have any because the stock will most likely be compressed. Don’t be to daunted be a good little project.
It's all fun and games till Darthvader comes along
I respect your beliefs but don't impose them on me.
