Shes finally given me the go ahead to put some timber in the basement...

That's right I've made a start on installing my gun room...what were you thinking?

I got the joists and a few floor boards down this morning, just wondering if anyones got any old building supplys lying around (handy to rotorua) Id be happy to pay a fair price.

I am in need of: 15sq m of gib, gib plaster, a suitable colour of interior paint, 6sq m carpet, framing timber...

Any help would be greatly appreciated, prefer to stay away from bunnings you know what they say, a low budget is a happy wife

Ill post pics along the way

Good luck with the build big_foot
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Sounds cool, I'm looking forward to taking over our new house as its got the perfect area for a strong room. Are you building yours to E-cat requirements as well?

Na I played it pretty cunning, had all the cleaning gear out in the middle of the lounge, giving the girls a good polishing, spilt a bit of oil.

Got the "I dont want those f**king things inside" I sez "Well its too dusty in the shed and too damp in the basement..."

Thanks to the couple of sentimental peices in my collection we come to the 'comprimise' of putting in a gun room to keep them dry...a good cabinet would have done the trick but wheres the fun in that?

Now the only challenge is bring it in on budget, so na not e-cat but it will have pretty beefy security.

What is the requirements for e-cat?

How bigs yours Toby? I'm goin for 2m wide by 2m high by 3.5m long.

New house has a 2.5x2.5 metre 'storage room'. I've already claimed it for my hunting stuff, and have spots on the walls through the house for a number of skulls. Hehehehehe

From what I have been told 17mm ply for walls and a 6mm steel door and bars over windows if any. Quick call to your AO should have you sorted.
Good way of future proofing for endorsements and probably work out cheaper then a $1k safe.

    Just a suggestion.
