Quick thread adapter for the T2
Most of my rifles are 14x1.0. Recently picked up a Bergara HMR, which turns out to be 18x1.0
So I made this out of a scrap piece of stainless. Interesting learning curve, first time I've done metric internal threading. Used a ER32 hex collet block in the mill to cut the hex so I can take the adapter on and off. Just need to see how the brake indexes and cut the shoulder back.

When it's all fitted and indexed I will take it to a mate to bead-blast so it has a similar finish as the T2.
A mate asked for a custom made youth stock. Single shot 223.
Timber is LVL from a centre span in a pole shed, recoil pad started life as a size 11 jandal from the warehouse. I'm rubbish at checkering so went with a stippled grip section.

@gundoc he ( Mr Vulcan barrels ) was around at my place today dropping off Ted's catalogue, inspecting the American long rifle I have just finished and checking on the double rifle barrels I started turning and fitting today.
Both those barrels are pure Vulcan made but I had a hand in all phases of their manufacture
I was really only pushing the buttons though because the set up is above my pay scale
It's great having such a talented guy looking over your shoulder and putting you right

Looking at making an inline compensator. Made this alu prototype today to sort out machining and work holding steps.
Ports angled 30 degrees back. Shroud will screw onto the brake. Will be interesting to see what the nett effect will be.
@m101a1
Hera arms ? Which version/model ?
3That would be awesome tx. Away this weekend, will get hold of you early next week
Will catch up next week the brake is 1/2 x 28 thread
Not "gunsmithing" per se...
Had a look online for a 303 Broken shell extractor.
Lots of examples in the US for USD 15 to 20.
Local price : NZD 135 :wtfsmilie: How on gods green earth can someone look at themselves in the mirror when they hike prices like this ?!?
So I spent 30 minutes on the lathe and made a new 303 base for my 308 extractor

Mid way pre tidy up of my absolute bubbfication of a Dpt chassis buttstock. I fitted a limbsaver off the original stock that required flattening the end of the what was absent recoil pad, fitted a clutch lever as a bag rider mounted off the sling swivel stud and added a bit of thickness and sound deadening to the tube by adding a piece of alkathene. Some of the best/worst work I’ve ever done as it’s kind of perfect now and it was nasty to use with 280rem recoil and a solid Ali buttpad beforehand. I have a second factory stock that’s identical that is un butchered spare so it’s given me the green light to make something functional and usable
I’ll tidy it up after iv used it a bit but it’s hideousness makes me laugh and gives off a good fallout theme so I’ll test it and see where the improvements are needed. Currently it’s a functional prototype so I’ll share it for a laugh

The MSSM.. Marlin Super Short (.22) Magnum...
The .223 was too big so we took Marlin 925 .22 WMR and smallerized it to fit the shooter.

The fun setup to machine true to the bore rather than the outside of a very eccentric Marlin .22LR

2 of my cans the survived testing (destructive testing)
Not sure how I messed up the order of the images but you get the idea :wtfsmilie:
Rem 700 bolt handle upgrade, bit different than the usual.
Cut the handle nearer to the bolt & machined a bit of round down with help of a work mate.
Tig welded together, grind handle + stock to tidy & blue to finish.
Pretty happy with the end product.
