    Nice-keep the old bit of stock. you can always graft it back on as needed later on.
    I did the same with an old Mossberg .22 years ago.
    I shortened the barrel, but (long time ago and don't have it for reference so a bit hazy on details) made a sleeve for the muzzle that I fashioned into a front sight and left a thread for a silencer. Only problem was the mag was a POS and never worked properly
