It is the Adams Model 1867 which had a fairly short production life and a desirable collector's item. The Tranters, Webleys and other brands started to make severe inroads into the Adams design and by the late 1880's Adams stopped production. The business continued as sporting goods retailers until WW2. The successful Adams Model 1851 self-cocking percussion revolver was the World's first solid frame revolver and was largely responsible for the closure of Colt's London factory in December 1856 after slightly less than 3 years production.
