Sell the 7RM and build a light weight 6.5 prc! One gun to rule them all.
Or buy a second hand kimber in 260
260 Carbonlite. Sorted.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
I remember mentioning a sako with a 12 hundred dollar cheaper option than the Invisible Carbonlite.
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Yeah Finn
I have one in x55 and got one through my Local in 260 for a mate who, while slightly delusional as to whats best, is still a mate.
Naturally Danny I'm talking previous, not sure what's about now
I know I couldn't get a hunter in 30 06 post lockdown and they tried to fob me off on a 270 for christ's sake .. Shudder.
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
maybe I'll hold out for a Finn.....wait around long enough and @buzzman will probably buy and sell one
#DANNYCENT
It's the cal Iv always wanted
When I run out of 243 bullets I'll rebarrel to either 260 or 6.5creed in one of my montanas
I'd say tikka off the shelf would be the safe bet, just depends if you want something specific like an sako 85
I'm a real fan of Kimber's and a 6.5creed hunter barrelled action to drop into my montanas carbon stock isn't much more than the cost to rebarrel, so I'm half heartedly on the look out for one of those. 243 just works for me so I'm in no rush.
Why not buy a 6.5 creed an rechamber. Factory contour will be lighter than anything aftermarket. Actually why rechamber the creed is 95% of the 260 and loads better in the magazine length of th kimbers. Buy a hunter and remove gel from stock for a 5 pound rifle. Set of Talley and a vx3i and you 5.75 pound scoped and ready to go.
Those minis are nice but weigh more than a kimber an dare limited to small catridges. I would buy a Kimber hunter in 6.5 creed and remove gel from stock and be done with it for about 2k. Or buy a Montana. There are so very light kimber builds and guys have even built 284 based cases on them however that's some more advanced smiting required.
