i did something similar to my stock as well , came out really nice , also very pleased with the results

@JemO if you haven't already done it I can highly recommend adding a few coats of matte clear, it really helps the finish to be more durable.
Make sure you get matte and not satin though as satin still gives off a little gloss.
The bridge is too wide at the strait,have a good xmas.
