    Tikka T3

    Hi all.
    I've got a Tikka T3 s/s
One thing i've noticed is that the butt of the stock is quite noisy when tapped against something i.e. a branch, it gives a loud hollow sound
Then i had the idea of filling up the cavity in the butt with builders foam, i might dampen the sounds without adding too much to the weight
    Anyone done this?

    Rr

haven't done it - but if you do, allow plenty of time to cure properly - that stuff is as stinky as if you're planning a fix before your next hunt!

temp solution might be to deaden with a rifle butt ammo holder?

Or tape from the Vet,sticks to itself
Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

The plastic Rem 700 stock has a bit of foam type packing folded up and shoved in, works surprisingly well.

use closed-cell foam that won't hold moisture, not the 'sponge' stuff which is porous . . . . . .

    bring yer problems to us - we'll tell yer what to do . . . . . .

yeah mate I got all keen after reading that tread about them. Sounds like the go.
If I did get a new stock what is the go with my zero?
Will this be affected at all or is it simply a case of putting a couple through and a minor tweak?
I have had the Tikka stock off a couple of time to clean etc and that had no affect.

Your Poi will change, but It wont be too far off, just do a check at the range before you go out hunting next

I personally have no issue with my stock, it fits me perfectly.
