A new pattern for me was this Loveless style from 5mm O1 steel, 416 stainless bolster, stainless corby bolts for the buffalo horn handle on the 4 1/2 in blade and weighs in at a hefty 11 oz. The honing steel is handled with a piece of sable horn.

The knife in the kydex sheath is held deep in the boot with only the ring above the boot to make it less visible so is needed for extracting it from the boot. The leather sheath is for when she is wearing a dress but not high boots so it is strapped to the leg. Both sheaths hold the knife secure with the handle held close to the top part of the sheath so again the ring pull is needed to extract it from the sheath.Quote:

The start of knife number 1000. A Braai or Barbeque butcher knife with a full flat grind to make easy work of cutting and slicing in the preparation of your meat for the cooking fire.
A 9 inch "X" pattern stainless damascus blade that will have bronze bolsters, bronze and G10 spacers and a Chittim burl handle on a partial tang handle. Will be engraved with appropriate markings to commemorate the milestone.

This has been a one off coming from a picture drawn full size and emailed to me. I had the drawing printed so the print had the same dimension as shown on the email with the blade length being the main dimension to be used to correct the sizing of the print.
The customer had seen a movie and wanted a knife similar to what the character had used in the film which I believe was "The last of the dogmen".
He sent me the mammoth molar scales and these I fixed to G10 liners to keep them from fracturing through drilling and shaping which was done with temporary pins as was the brass bolster with all the shaping and finish polishing when they were removed for the blade to be stone washed. Final assembly meant careful clean-up of any squeezed out epoxy at clamp up then all that remained was to dress off the pins in the scales and peen the brass pin through the brass bolster. The knife is secured in the sheath via the strap and stud.
