Thread: wanted to know. Take off target barrels.

    I'm contemplating taking the 13 twist, 27 1/2" 30 cal barrel off my Omark target rifle.
    Last rework was done by Mike Collings in 1994 - according to Ross Collings (Collings and Bradey), who did some work on the stock recently.
    As its a little 'smoked' on the start of the rifling (chasing the rifling at 80.02mm CBTO), it's time to 'bite the bullet' and think about a rebarrel.
    If intending to use heavier than 150 gn bullets (Max I used was 168gn - and not shabby, but looser groups), in a hunting rifle, then this won't be much use to you.
