    wanting a 308 barrel

    i am looking for a 308 caliber
    1:8 twist blank barrel
    has any one got one?

    1:10 in 308 will get you up to the heavy heavy pills 200gr +

    1:12 to 168's approx

    1:13 is used by the target boys that shoot the 155 palma match pills

    1:8 is good to stabalize big pills going slow (suppressed loads)

    to fast and it will scrub a lot of speed and wont work well with light pills

    243, 264 1:8 is good

    I'll have a Howa 308 barrel to sell in a couple weeks. I think they're 1:10 twist. Never been fired.

    I have a 1:11 twist Sako varmint barrel sitting here in .308. Only 20" long though.

    Leathel's on to it , and I mainly agree .

    BUT , I find I have no problems with accuracy with a 1-12 for 175gr SMKs .
    Also , I tend to lean towards a 1-7 twist for subsonic use , maybe thats just me .
    I do howvever think the 1-11 is very good for the 175gr bullets .
    In 300WM , I run 1-10 twists and use 208gr bullets .
