    welding Stainless

Hi, I need a couple small spot welds made on some SS panel steel.

Is there anyone near me (Helensville) who could please help?
Happy to trade some beers etc for your time.

Please mention or PM me if you can help.
    Cheers, 40mm

    Thanks @Gusto.

Hope I don't get that desperate to drive down that far!

I bought a small pack of stainless rods and have been sticking a few stainless things back together. It wasn't as hard as I had been led to believe. And I'm a pretty average welder.
If it isn't a job that needs a professional finish, have a go at it yourself.
Good idea, I have seen that done and its not too bad allright.
But I have some .55mm stainless strap to spot a couple nuts onto (going to be big hose clamps to hold an oxy bottle onto an Alice pack...)
So I reckon the stick will make a meal of that!

I am patient, someone will turn up local with a Tig etc : )

Please tell me you're making a flame thrower
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

I'm no pro welder but for what you want to do you can probably get away with standard mig I've used it on stainless before

Are you intending to weld nuts on to use a bolt to tighten, like a regular hose clamp?

Yeah that is my last resort.
But I have a couple things I want spotted and one is nice and shiny, so I want to keep it like that!

    And Rivnuts wont work.
But the guy who invented them should be knighted.
