if yo ucan find them..the berry bullets are so much easier to reload than bare cast....the wee rounded bum makes life easier.
whats end usage??? animals, plinking of serious target work??? because it will matter what you get..LOL
Have sent PM
Just use 240 Grain Hornady XTP
Very effective as a sub or super sonic
That’s what I do,10g trail boss for subs ,23g 2205 full power, kills deer well at bush r@nges.Rossi lever gun.
I extensively tested 240 and 300 grain XTPs a decade ago in 44 magnum and 444 Marlin
Both sub sonic and super sonic
The 240s were better at everything than the 300s
Both sub and super the 300s did not expand as well
Two 240s back to back in the 444 were a laugh
The front bullet went pretty well on target
I never really found where the back bullets were going
Then a few years later found the bullet holes in one if my sheds about 15° to the left of my 100m range
And it was a pretty good group
Robbie T and i were trying to develop a duplex bullet load for Bush stalking
Thinking two bullets from one shot had to be better ?
WRONG
We were just having ( safe ) fun trying stuff
I thought the fully suppressed sub sonic 44 was great
It did a good job
But it wasn't old and it wasn't cool and it wasn't really quite enough overkill for me.
Certainly not enough noise, smoke and recoil to make you know you are alive
The trouble with addiction is you keep needing more ...
What powder did you use for the subs?were you using a crimp?thinking I might try subs again after a bit of a break from them.
Use AP70N for subs. Or Unique. Yes, use a crimp.
