Having completely destroyed the boltface on my Barnard through the use of Winchester primers, I can understand you need to be shut of them. Even after having it repaired by Mike Collings, one of them turned up in a batch of loaded rounds that I had forgotten about a month or so later, and shit!, another hole in the boltface.
Bury them, or burn them for some entertainment, but don't pass them on to your fellow shooters.

Thanks for that , never heard of Winchester primers destroying boltfaces maybe you should ring every sports shop in the country & tell them to bury them to or is it just yours and my primers that are no good ? what about Winchester bullets are they no good to ?, I would happily use the primers & will if I cant find what iv already been using , sounds like you should bury the shit barnard .

There was by all accounts a large batch of large rifle Winchester primers a while ago that were pretty bad.

They in part cratered a ring around the firing pin hole wrecking the bolt faces on quite a few rifles.

If you have had no problems with the lot you have they are most probably sweet.

It doesn't take many rounds to etch the bolt face with the bad ones.
I have been using the SR ones in my 223s and pistols and have had a great run with them.

Ive got some of the suspect ones,(900) im working through. They work fine for low pressure cast bullet loads or black powder, there are quite a few guys here who shoot this type of thing, macca49, homebrew, to name two. They might appreciate some primers at a good rate.

Point is this doosh is making out like im knowingly passing on some shit to someone else , I can tell you now this is simply not the case in total honesty I was given the box of Remington's that iv used to make the new load & out of 40 rounds used 2 of them haven't fired so if I was passing on some shit primers it wouldn't be the Winchesters !! not that I would ever do that I consider that dangerous , the way I see it doing dodgy trades would ruin the integrity of the forum . Simply want to keep using the same primers & not have to worry about retesting my new load end of story .Theres 9 boxes with around 20 left in 1 box every box has TCL262G stamped on the back maybe someone out there can enlighten me or us wether they are any good or not ??

No offence intended and the issue is probably historical now but it has tainted the reputation of the large rifle primers in many shooters opinion. There is a thread on here about the problem. Winchester never admitted fault but did exchange or refund in some circumstances.
    My primers are all dll826g.
In my experience unless you are into benchrest or similar changing primer makes no noticeable difference to performance unless going from magnum to std or vice versa
