    reloading

    caliber 7.62x39, wish to load using 174gr rn, cannot find any data, any suggestions..stan

    I take it you're chasing a subsonic load? What rifle, and twist rate will you be trying to feed these to?

    reloading section on this forum might be a better spot for this thread

    however if you want a subsonic load 7 grains of tail boss would be a good start we use a 151gn cast bullet mostly though but id still start at 7gn and work from that but as tommy said whats your twist rate 174gn probably wont even stabilize in most 7.62x39's

    the 170 grn cast same shape as those 150s is borderline in my norinco/bisley...... plenty of load data on the likes of ADI sites......

    I shoot 220 grain boolit pushed by 6 grains AP50. Stabilises just fine. If using a Bisley they are quite large in the bore and need .314 projectile. The Bisley likes the boolit seated out as far as the mag will allow and this will engage the lands and straighten the projectile and centre the case in the chamber. The Bisley with this combination is very very accurate . Havent measured the speed but similar to a 22lr.
