    Wanted Barnes .224 projectiles

Barnes .224, 45 and 50 gr, want 5 of each to test, can't get 53 gr to stabilise in 1-12 twist Rossi.

Need an 8 twist. 12 is too slow. Running 53gr TSX in my 8 twist T3 223.

Used some 40 Barnes and 45 Hornady got 1/2" groups but wanted more weight. Have brought some sample packs to try, have another 223 which is 1-10, can use them in that if it doesn't work. Always use the 53 in my 1-10 with excellent results. Have you tried the Hornady 50g GMX, brought a sample pack of them also.

Would have thought 1:12 would be alright for 53g. Is that normal or a barnes thing?

Got excellent groups with 50 Barnes and 50 Hornady GMX, 15MM. Achieved what I wanted with 1-12 twist

55gr TTSX works good in my 223. what powder charge are you using? they seemed to be more accurate grouping wise, the faster they went.

Anything in Barnes 53 gr and over wouldn't stabilize with the 1-12 twist, with the 50 gr using 25.5 gr 2206 not 2206H, getting excellent accuracy. Have used Barnes for more than 20 years, have also found that the accuracy is better at the top end of the powder load.

If wanting more penetration, try the nosler 60gr partition, they fully stabilize in a 12 twist 223

My 2C it would be hard to beat a Barnes for penetration including shooting big wet red stags during the roar.
