I have completed my submission. For those still working on theirs, I'd include something on the "Fit and proper status" regarding licence revocation. This needs to be clearly defined within the Act so law enforcement and Firearm owners understand the requirements. Licence Revocation needs to go through a formal process. If challenged and the courts find removal unjustified, Police should cover all court costs and compensation for any distress. I believe the court process, costs around $20000 for trying to overturn the decision, so licence revocation needs to be carefully considered and not based on a decision made by a member of the Police. This would ensure in fairness and reduce potential for abuse of power. Fit and proper status should only be revoked by the courts and no other body.
