Very sad
I think the parents might be in the poo over this
So many of us are responsible firearms owners and so many of us have taught children safe handling of firearms. The issue in this instance is about access and supervision. I hope the girl recovers quickly.
parents should always make sure that any type of firearm should not be in hand of children to avoid any type of incident. It is necessary to have gun case and keep the gun in some safe place with locked. And gun safety rules should be followed by the gun users.
This is not a firearm problem any halfwit over 18 can by a air rifle and leave it lying around.

I would suggest you're the one stirring the shit here, username. Saying "its not a firearm problem" is pretty short sighted.
Unfortunately even the most highly educated can make mistakes. We all need to remember that incidents/accidents can and do happen to ANYONE. None is immune to lapses of 'perfection'.
hope some round here know good glaziers.
After all the discussion on hunters being shot and killed due to misidentification during the roar. You title this "Another one"?

I posted this in the general "Firearm Safety" section, as I believe it relates to firearm safety. If you have a browse through this section you will discover many other safety related posts, which aren't directly related to hunting misidentification.
Had I put it into one of the threads where people discussed hunters being shot then yeah, that would be insensitive, but that's not what happened.
Ok i dont read the forum by section i read new posts.

Is this another reason to not visit Wairoa?:(
Poor kids will learn the hard way on this one. Could have been much worse. When I clicked the link I thought it was going to be about another hunting tragedy.
