Ban Guns, knives, and now CARS?

So, the London's Mayor, Sadiq Khan is reported to have had a brainwave to stem the tide of terrorism and protect Members of Parliament. Ban cars from central London!

I get where he is coming from, and if implemented his suggestion might save more London lives than banning guns and knives ever did - yet for reasons other than terrorism.
