there are a few engineers who do same thing re permits for a job.....building inspectors for stuff in a new build hidden behind walls...so the concept isnt new.
I thought is was a pretty simple request. If you value your firearms you will make sure its bolted to the wall properly.
I use tec screws or bugle head screws. You can use a washer if you want.
Some off you guys want to make the process harder then it needs to be
Pretty sure it's the government and police that made the process much harder than it needs to be!
Since when did ammo storage need fixing to the wall? Mine is but the inspector who came 2 weeks ago as I moved into this place early June said it didn't have to be fixed and I believe the law doesn't require it to be either.
I mean they allow me to take the same ammo safe in the caravan unsecured so long as my rifle is in the secured and inspected rack.
Been waiting since March. Followed up with them but haven’t heard anything.
I got the same email today.
Maybe reply to their email saying to them that it sounds like scam and that you will only accept a physical inspection.
See what happens next.
Don't send photos, then will part of your file so when the cops leak the register the crims will not only know where you live, what you got, what's it's in but how to remove it. Ammo storage does not need to be bolted down just in a locked container seperate to the guns.
I got this form email too
I enclose my reply below with the proviso that none of you may wish to be as caustic with these fuckwits as I choose to be but I believe in letting these spendthrifts know that someone thinks they are a waste of oxygen
Hello possible scammer whose reply address is different from their sent address
You may or may not be police or FSA, that is neither here nor there
I will not be sending any pictures to you of my security as I do not trust your ability to keep this information secure
I have just looked at Section 34 of the Arms Act (1983). and it states that I need to give written notice of said change of address which I have done
Finally, as to this malarkey here "Finally, if you are yet to register your firearms, you are now required to do so within 30 days. " I would point out to you our previous correspondence which I quote here-
Regarding our recent call.
I have closed off the activating event as you advised you had submitted COA prior to the Registry going live.
You are welcome to undertake a physical inspection but please get your facts straight in future as I deal with idiots on a daily basis and do not have the free time for more stupidity without getting paid for it
A fella the missus works with had his guns and safe stolen a while back, they just used an electric chainsaw and took the fixings out with the safe.
Yea its not that hard if you really want it. I hope we dont get to the point where they are being taken at gun point
