    Concerned2 the cops arrive

Mister plod arrived this evening and asked the missus for mr"...." she yelled out "cop to see you babe" while I was having a leek..... nice one babe
He started explaining about how a license was being revoked which wasn't really a surprise until he referred to "my firearms"
Slight communication issue as the missus didn't realize that his actual legal(everybody knows him by another) first name sounds just like my last name.
So once that was sorted out i was commended on removing the firearms and was asked if I had the only access to my safe, which of course is the case. Otherwise they were to be removed by the police.

So due to calling the police and a hospital stay his license is revoked until he appeals it within 3 months and can prove he is fitt and proper again.

The ruling on it as far as I can gather is the same as spousal/family violence etc.

Basically if he doesn't appeal in 3 months he is stuffed.

I could have this wrong but that is what i got from the brief conversation.

WOW. You still did a good deed VC and your mate has a couple of months to consider whether or not he wants to appeal. The due process of the law grinds on while the rest of us sleep.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Yep, you summed it up. It would help if he was seen to be doing something proactive about his situation, it would help his application. Some counselling in the first month or two, apply to get it back in the third...

That would be the biggest and best move, cutting loose any baggage causing this... Hope it all works out for him. It all sounds too familiar

I am still surprised they didnt secure the firearms that night or at least before he returned home, what if I wasn't a license holder?

    Concerned2 the cops arrive

The thing I still struggle with is that he's in the position of potentially never being able to use firearms again BECAUSE he asked for help.

Hubby and I have had a big discussion about this Cam...it's an interesting one. Things sort of don't match up with who talks with who - by that I mean a Police officer isn't fit to tell someone they are nuts even if said person comes to them saying 'I'm nuts please help'. It's kind of messed up though because the arms officer that comes to your house to tell you that you are fit and proper is just a non-sworn member of police and not a shrink...

Anyway, interesting to mull it over from a study kind of mindset.
