Apart from Mike Loder, who can be questionable at times what proof is there that this isnt fake news

Never mind ive just seen the evidence. Outstanding security awareness by the officers involved. Neither probably have a fal, or if they do dont belong to a pistol club. I have seen rifles been put on the back seat of patrol cars while they go and do something else. Then scurry back to remove the mag and put both in the boot.

    Un F*!@&ing Believable.

"He confirmed the keys were left in the ignition of the patrol car. The offender then used keys to gain access to the car's weapons lock box." (quote from stuff)

And the best quote of the day

"I would just encourage all citizens of the Gore district and indeed the wider Southland area to just take care and make sure vehicles and their property is secure ... lock your property, lock your cars."

    That ship done gone sailed.

"When the buy-back was announced, Police Minister Stuart Nash sought police assurance they had strong processes for handling firearms. Police said at the time they were confident they could manage the collection of the guns. Following the (Palmerston North) station burglary, Nash has sought a new assurance."

Hey Nashi - wotcha gonna seek now...

Nash and carhill should be forced to resign due to no confidence following brazen statements about police and security.

Wasn't there a news article recently with screwed statistics about how many firearms are stolen from unlocked vehicles. The stats said 33% of all firearms stolen are from unattended vehicles. In the smallprint it then stated that the 33% was taken from a subset of about 20% of all stolen firearms data. Or something like that. I guess fudging the numbers makes it look better if they are higher.

Do as I say not as I do..............

As a pistol shooter I'm so bloody careful when transpoting them and more so if I ever have to stop between the range & home. But to leave the keys in the car with the pistols as @spada said...............Un F*!@&ing Believable.

In my opinion it is the Police Commissioner that also needs to own this stuff VC. Any good CEO would accept the accountability and responsibility for all shortcomings lays with him/her.

Yes but unlike in private business, in politics you never have to be accountable thats why they are there
