Boom, cough,cough,cough
Like him or dislike him - Cam Slater at least has the balls to publicly call out this sort of behaviour , and we all owe him a debt of gratitude for that
Police have now launched an investigation, with a Police National HQ Superintendent contacting Slater, requesting him to remove his post on X. Slater, however, says he will not comply, stating: “If I took down this article… the Police would treat that as a win and deal with this in darkness.”
Any fuk ups like this need to see the sunlight- full & honest disclosure- so the holes are fixed.
Fix one hole another will appear elsewhere. Just wait until when AI truly comes of age...
This story is such a strange one. In and of itself its a big deal to leak info. And then even more-so as both that firearm and the person licenced to own it have to meet the highest level of our system so Police should be extra careful too.
But to be not only someone else's info about a highly restricted item but sent to probably the last person in NZ that Police would want involved.
Conspiracy theorists' field-day
Its not a theory.
It actually came from the very people charged with keeping the data secure, and sent it a third party who had no involvement/responsibility with that particular firearm...
I'm watching this story with great interest.
Of all the people in NZ to misdirect a sensitive email to....
Let's hope Nicole will pick this up and utilise it for the failure it is....'if indeed it is a valid failure or breech'. If it is....then the biggest push back needs to happen. It's effectively a system failure.
I saw this on the COLFO page but has the media picked it up?
Surely you posted that in jest , sir .has the media picked it up?
The NZ media ? Really?
Thats just a silly notion......
