Dealer to Dealer purchasing of firearm

Gun City tell me that as it's a dealer to dealer sale (GC to GC) then no police permit needed as they will check the licence, etc at time of pickup.
Delta Mike also have a rifle I would like but they insist on a police permit (mail order) before shipping rifle to another dealer.
    Who is right?
Gun City is winning at the moment for getting my $$ as I can't be assed with more paperwork that isn't (may not be) required.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks.

Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

How much do they want for the Dealer to Dealer service minus the paperwork, also check that there isn't another charge at the receiving dealer, some charge each end.

Pretty sure gun city's is more of an internal transfer as they will only go to their own stores, whereas delta mike is the more standard option that requires a S43A form to be filled and dropped off at your local police station,

If you have access to the GC network I'd go through them for less hassle,

H&F has always charged me $60 to send and $40 to receive, not sure if that's standard or not though

Yes.... I purchased a rifle from GC CHCh.... paid them the price plus $60 or so transfer cost. No Police mail order form required.
Picked it up from GC Napier and all that was required was my Firearms license that was recorded in GC Napier's arms register.
    Hastle free.

Yup. You guys are correct. GC don't require a MOF for firearms etc between our stores. We will require one if you need to collect it from a different dealer. Depending on what store it's coming from and going to we can usually chuck it on a pallet with other gear and get it there for free if you don't mind waiting. If you want it sooner it's the $50-$60 or whatever the charge is for a firearm these days.

That was my experience shipping between two H&F stores. Went from South Auckland to Blenheim H&F then returned to South Aucklanf H&F. Was told no Police Permit required and it certainly worked that way.

I brought a rifle from gc Christchurch and they shipped it to the wellington store for free if I didn't mind waiting a week. Got it in 4 days, and no police order form needed

to be honest its a bit bollocks really isn't it. the price has nearly doubled for transport for a start and why the hell cant it be shipped between dealers without going through the rozzers?
A dealer can sell you a firearm and enev get one shipped to you. they would all get a bit of business if they could ship through each other, Im sure there are quite a few that nope out of going to the coppers for a mail order form. Ive done it a couple of times a few years back and in Christchurch its a pain in the ass having to go to the main cop shop. I have a station 5 minutes walk away but no public facing desk.

HDA forging Police Officers signature on the old Mail Order form has a fair bit to do with today's system, thank Heather.
