Dunedin cop didn't hand in his AR........

Anybody know anything or got any info on the Dunedin cop who is up for bashing the wife and still possessing an AR? Quite a way up the rank ladder apparently- Quite keen to see just how he gets on, two sets of rules and all that......

I saw a couple of articles (one recent, one quite a while back) that he had a Ruger 10/22 but no FAL.

Cheers for that, stopped paying attention to the news a while ago, the AR angle would have been juicy, but a 10/22, not so much.

To the general public, and often the media:
    1. All sharks are great whites
    2. All aggressive dogs are pit bulls
    3. All firearms are ARs or "machine guns"

I imagine whomever that is would not be flavour of the month at PNHQ and a policeman coming up before a judge on a domestic violence and firearms charges probably doesn’t bode well if proven guilty.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

What I find incredible, is that he was a "high-ranking officer" and would so obviously qualify for a license, and could certainly afford the application fee being quite senior, but saw himself as above the law. What a piece of shit.

I wonder what "high-ranking means"? Presumably because he has name suppression and if they can't mention his actual rank because it more would more or less ID him by dint of there being so few of that particular rank in that area..? Is this an Inspector or something like that? State of it
