The garage has a one window and a door, and is the only room I can put it in. The safe is out of sight from the window but is visible from the back door.... so I covered it up.

Looks like a very good job. Only suggestion would be to use some decent sized washers underneath those small bolt heads. Not entirely necessary but it helps as the mild steel some gun cabinets are made from can be brittle.

No problem with that. Make the plate larger than the base area of your gun cabinet and the bolts unable to be undone (rounded, welded or burred) from underneath.
