No, Kilwell and Bit Security are not the only ones they will approve. You can still build your own, you will just 'need' an engineers certificate to verify it is suitable.

As Police have recently attempted to review the 'requirements', here has been, as usual, lots of misinformation circulated.

I have a home made safe. I've had it for years. And it was owned by an endorsed dude before me. I don't have a certificate to go with it. I've never been asked for one. It always gets approved.
