Thanks for the advice everyone, it's actually dry as hell under the floor, but i'll try to get a safe dehumidifier, I'll be adding an alarm of some sort and will try to reinforce the basement door as much as possible, the walls are concrete and the only basement window is just big enough to crawl through so I will look to add bars on the inside. It's a good area with neighbours who have views of all sides of the house and keep an eye on each other, at least one of them is also a shooter, so I'm pretty happy in that regard.

@gonetropo I want to put a PIR inside my (locked) wardrobe where my E Cat safe is. A system that will sent a text to me if tripped.
Possibly have some options to be future proofed so I then include the whole house in the system. We have an old alarm system already, but not currently working.

Any recommendations please?
