    Yes, quite right.
    They didn't follow the law.
    I guess 'fair' isn't quite what I meant.
    It does bring up the worry that a meter maid might get some problems from stroppy people who don't like having their vehicle closely scrutinised like that.
    Is this even a function of meter maids now?

    In Auckland, they check registration and Warrants of Fitness as well.
