sadly I can see Fastways response being that they stop providing courier service for rifles/firearms. Where does that leave us punters needing to get a rifle off to the gunsmith down line ?? Fastways are currently about the only game in town to my knowledge.

    That'd suck for sure.

But I can't find anything on PBT's website to say they don't. I sent my shotgun with them last week, not that they knew.

You would still have more chance of a result than a missing rifle via fastways..

I would not bet on it, NZ Post holds the record for losing parcels I ship stuff with them a few times a week in five years their "investigators" have not recovered
any of the ten parcels they have lost, just as well they are not pricey items, If you post any item that is on their band list and they lose it there is no compensation
any thing to do with firearms is band, Not worth the risk, I use Fastways a lot as well for firearms never had a problem guess I'm lucky

How about we keep the police away from more firearms duties, preferably they had no role in administering the arms act at all.

Like it's been said, you wouldn't be compensated if it were lost or they somehow found out what it was, so use at your own risk, and if you're happy with that then that's no problem.

You are half way there. As of today fastway have changed their policy regarding firearm delivery, any firearm being sent to a residential address has to be C/O the local fastway depot.

Your nearest depot looks to be Invercargill ha ha. The sea voyage to collect your toys will do your health wonders.
My nearest depot is Penrose, about an hours drive from my home. The drive there will not do my health wonders. I am rural so yeah we will suffer the most.

    Sorry my mistake.
They will only deliver to an arms registered business if not then it has to be collected from the local fastway depot and you will be asked to present your firearms licence.
