COLFO (Council of Licenced Firearms Owners) spokesperson Hugh Devereaux-Mack said,

“It’s not surprising that we see inflated or ballooning cost in this agency that does not reduce crime and it is an indication of how the registry will be run. NZers should be asking if they are getting value for money and are they safer for this investment.”

fair comment much more eloquent than your average NZHS forum member when trying to say "i told you so".............
also not surprising the minister wasnt available for comment.... she most likely wont respond before the election (my expectation given the history of pollys in general when a negative story hits)

We had a good system. Now it's a fuck up. Pretty much sums up the last 6 years for most things too

creating cost by wasting money is what the system is supposed to do. By law these costs must be recovered from firearms owners, thus making owning firearms unaffordable for the average person.

Its really not that hard to understand what they are trying to do.

    1. As a new agency they need to get their name/brand out there.
    2. The more they spend/waste the higher the cost per license, That'll be why they haven't fixed the new fees yet.
    3. They have excelled beyond their own expectations at increasing said cost/license.
    4. And most importantly...It's not their money.

The little cans of John West Tuna that have been around for ever are no longer coming into NZ from Oz due to the attached plastic spoon/fork.

Without Plastic there is no surviving for 95% of the grenies....
No electrics.. (no insulation) No seals for taps, sinks or washing machines etc, no plugs (water or power) No trips to the supermarket (packaging in general) Tar seal for the roads, no pipes for plumbing, - so no seweer, no water, no light. No bicycle helmets,

NO CELLPHONES, NO FACEBOOK, NO INTERNET NO COMPUTERS, NO PHONES in general....

A huge portion of medical care relies on plastic especially the stuff that reuires sterility....

    No pacemakers, no surgical gloves,

The real irony is that the plastic bags were invented by a greenie to reduce the impact on the enviroment of the destruction of trees for paper bags. You only needed to use them twice for them to become more enviromentally friendly than paper bags.....and they had the added benefit of increased reliability AND food hygene..

The stupid bastards will effectively kill themselves off with incompetence when it comes to thinking these things through.....
